Marching Band receives mellophone grant

ROSCOMMON – The Roscommon County Community Foundation is proud to announce that the Marching Band at Roscommon High School has been awarded a grant of $1,000 for two mellophones. Funding for the project was provided by a Donor Advised Fund.

This grant has directly served two students this season and will continue to until these instruments wear out through age. There are currently seventy members in the RHS marching band and the mellophones help fill out the sound of the band as a whole. These instruments will last anywhere from 15-20 years and will continue to benefit thousands of students down the line.

“I was surprised and overjoyed at the recent acquisition of two new marching mellophones for The Marching Bucks. The students and parents did a great job of surprising me at the spring concert. I truly had no idea! I am grateful that we have such a wonderful organization like the Roscommon County Community Foundation that supports so many facets of our community.” Said Roscommon High School Band Director, Seth Kilbourn.
