River House Annual Spring Fling Fundraiser May 3

By Carla Ott

GRAYLING  – It’s that time of year for River House’s Spring Fling fundraiser! The theme this year is Tropical Getaway. We could all use that, right?

Each year we gather at St. Mary’s Church in Grayling to raise awareness and funding for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In exchange for the support of the communities we serve, we will be offering an extensive silent auction, exciting entertainment, delicious tropical-themed dinner, a fun photo-booth, as well as the ever-popular craft beer and wine tasting. Entertainment provided by Maelyn Morang as she DJs the event with your favorite tropical music. You can sit, sway, dance or sing along! Fifth Street Market in Roscommon provides the craft beer and wine each year for the event.

If the #MeToo movement has taught us anything, it’s that domestic violence and sexual assault is happening everywhere, to every gender, to all ages. Domestic violence doesn’t care about someone’s socioeconomic status, nor does it discriminate against race. It is our belief that we all have a role to play in creating a future free of this life-altering trauma. We are asking you to get involved, help us in our mission to bring awareness, to help stop this senseless violence. Previous years have been tremendous successes, it is our hope to repeat and multiply those successes, enabling us to increase our efforts and expand our reach.

The “Fling” is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. at  St. Mary’s Church, located at 708 Peninsular Avenue in Grayling. Tickets are $25 each or $40 per couple.
