OGEMAW COUNTY – Many faces and characters come to mind with that question, and Ogemaw County will be celebrating each one as it begins the 2019 season of fighting cancer.
“Heroes of Hope” is the theme for the 2019 Relay Season. Relay is inviting all past Relay participants and teams, as well as those individuals and businesses interested in learning more about Relay For Life, to the annual kickoff scheduled for Jan. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ogemaw Township Hall, located on the corner of W. M-55/M-76 and Gray Road.
The evening will include free fun, food, and friendly games to learn more about the many things the American Cancer Society does in the community to assist cancer patients and their families. Old and new teams, and those wanting to be “adopted” by an existing team can contact Cathy at 989-387-1011 to make a reservation.
There is no cost to attend. Each attendee who brings a new person to the kickoff will get one ticket for a prize drawing. Anyone bringing a new team that evening will get 10 free tickets for a Highway Brewery gift card.
Ogemaw County Relay for Life is scheduled for July 20 from 10 a.m. to July 21 at 10 a.m. The event will again be held at the Tolfree Wellness Park right beside the MidMichigan Medical Center – West Branch on S. M-30.
