‘Santa’s Coming to town’

REGION – Lake State Railway, in partnership with AuSable Media Group, The AuSable River Center, Blarney Stone Broadcasting and the Crawford County Historical Museum, will deliver Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves and several other well known television personalities to Roscommon and Grayling Dec. 1 to visit with the children and help collect toys for the “Toys For Tot’s” program.

The Roscommon visit will be part of the annual Christmas in the Village event. Santa will ride into town on the front of a locomotive about 11:30 a.m. and will stay until 1:30 p.m. The Grayling visit will start about 6 p.m.

Originally started by the United States Marine Corp. this program has brought Christmas happiness to thousands of children. Last year the Santa Train generated eight huge boxes of toys and other items that were distributed by the Christian Help Center to families in need.

AuSable Media will webcast the arrival of Santa into Roscommon online at www.UpNorthvoice.com. Blarney Stone Broadcasting will broadcasting Santa’s ride into Grayling.

The balance of Santa’s crew will be in the beautifully restored antique railway car where Santa and Mrs. Claus will listen to every child’s Christmas wish.

After the visit with Santa, parents and children are invited into the River Center in Roscommon, or the Museum in Grayling to warm up with some hot chocolate and cookies.

Mark your calendar, buy a toy and help make some children happy on Christmas morning.
