HOUGHTON LAKE– North Central Area Credit Union (NCACU) is reimagining its longtime Superhero September campaign with the launch of the Superhero Spectacular, a summer-long series of free community events and concerts benefiting children impacted by abuse and neglect.
The new format includes four free concerts across Northern Michigan, bringing the event directly to the communities served by the Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center and the CAN Council in Arenac County. Proceeds from donations, bucket raffles, and 50/50 drawings will support local children’s advocacy services.
Since introducing the Superhero program in Michigan in 2018, NCACU and its community partners have raised more than $100,000 for children’s advocacy and assessment centers statewide.
Concerts begin at 6 p.m. and feature “The Way It Was” tribute performances honoring Elvis Presley, Jimmy Buffett, and Frank Sinatra. NCACU is also seeking sponsors, with all sponsorship dollars staying local to support children and families in the communities served.
The 2026 Summer Concert Series schedule includes:
• June 18 – Paddle Hard Yard, Grayling
• July 15 – CRAF Center, Roscommon
• August 20 – Trestle Park, Prudenville
• August 26 – Historical Depot, Standish
