STANDISH – A fully staged puppet production of Thumbelina will be presented Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Northeast Art Center.
The center is located at the corner of Grove Road and US-23 in Standish (½-mile north of the Standish traffic light).
Presented by Greg Lester’s Puppet Adventures of Detroit, this imaginative adaptation of the beloved Hans Christian Andersen tale follows a tiny girl named Thumbelina as she is swept into a remarkable adventure. Along the way, she encounters both friends and foes, floats down rivers on lily pad boats, lives deep beneath the earth, escapes the deceptive Queen of the Toads, and soars through the clouds on the back of a bird before finally reaching the home of the Fairy King. Featuring 14 star characters and seven scene changes, the production promises a magical theatrical experience for audiences ages 3 through adult.
The performance marks the conclusion of the Northeast Michigan Arts Council’s Just for Kids 2026 theatre season at the Northeast Art Center.
