As winter winds down, it’s the perfect time to get out, reconnect, and support hometown happenings.

HOUGHTON LAKE– The Houghton Lake Junior/Senior High will host an action-packed dodgeball night March 6, featuring Alumni vs. Staff and Fire vs. Police matchups, plus a championship showdown, “Toilet Bowl” game, surprise referee, and Justin Roger on the mic. Admission is $5, with half the proceeds supporting the local animal shelter.

GRAYLING– Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend in style at the House of Hamill Celtic Concert on March 14 from 7–9 p.m. at the AuSable Artisan Village Performing Arts Center, 122 Michigan Ave., downtown Grayling. Advance tickets are $35 and available at artisanvillage.org/events/.

ST. HELEN– Rev up for race day at the Pinewood Derby Workshop on March 14 from 12–4 p.m. at the St. Helen VFW Hall, 1914 Lake St. Pinewood Derby car kits will be available for $20, with tools and guidance on hand to help you build the perfect racer.

PRESCOTT– Get creative with color at Natural Easter Egg Dyeing on March 14 at the Skidway Lake Branch of the Ogemaw District Library, 2196 Greenwood Rd., Prescott. Join the 11 a.m. session for high school and older or the 2 p.m. kids’ program, and dye six eggs using natural methods. Reserve your spot by emailing [email protected]
