Mornin’ from the Mitten: Dandelions and the Dalai Lama

By Mark Constance

At the moment, nature is going crazy, but in a good way.

The peepers are advertising their wares after dark. The birds sound like a freight train rolling through town just before dawn. And I saw my first bee today on a dandelion in the front yard.

The seasons they are a changin’. 😊

We have a potpourri of events this weekend as our communities gear up for the migration north of the people from downstate.

Let’s try to be patient as they clean up around their cottages, put in their docks, make themselves comfortable and join us for a great Michigan summer.

Hopefully the mosquito numbers will be down this year.

Quote of the day is from the Dalai Lama:

“Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend – or a meaningful day.
