Roscommon County youths active at Ogemaw County Fair

WEST BRANCH – Olivia Brown, Joshua Karoub, Samantha Karoub, Desirae White, Savannah Story, Cheyenne Story, Ethan Sharrow, Dylan Sharrow, and Alyssa Vineyard participated in this year’ Ogemaw County Fair.

The 4H Horse and Pony Club of Roscommon County members participated in horse showing, chicken showing, rabbit showing, drawing, photography, crops and gardening, art, and baking.

Alyssa Vineyard received ‘Young Juniors Class’ Grand Champion Western, Reserve Champion English, and Grand Champion Speed honors for her horse projects. Joshua Karoub received ‘Pony Class’ Grand Champion Western, Grand Champion Best Overall Costume, and Reserve Champion Speed for his horse projects.

‘We are so incredibly proud of these children. They have worked hard all year to present at the fair to the community,’ Trisha Jackson, 4H leader said.

Desirae White received Intermediate Grand Champion Showmanship for her rooster. For rabbit showing, Alyssa Vineyard received the Junior Rabbit Showmanship – Grand Champion; and Samantha Karoub received 1st place in Open Division Rabbits Senior Buck.

Some projects received ‘ribbons only’ getting either a blue, red or white ribbon based on how well they did. The kids received mostly blue ribbons, but there is no formal placement in these youth classes for exhibits.

Receiving ‘ribbons only’ for their projects included Joshua Karoub and Olivia Brown for their drawings; Joshua Karoub, Samantha Karoub, Ethan Sharrow, Dylan Sharrow, and Olivia Brown for their photography; Joshua and Samantha Karoub for their crops, farm and gardening; Olivia Brown for her art; and Alyssa Vineyard for her baking.
