Charlene ‘Char’ May Goddard of Roscommon

Charlene ‘Char’ May Goddard, 48, of Roscommon passed away July 13, 2016 at her home.

Char was born Aug. 14, 1967 in Dearborn to Lloyd Arnold and Donna Jean (Kirby) Stead. On July 18, 1987 Char married Floyd E. Goddard, Jr. in Roscommon. She lived most of her life in Roscommon.

Mrs. Goddard was the director of food services for Roscommon Area Public Schools and with Chartwells Food Services for 23 years. She was a member of the Michigan Firemen’ Memorial Festival Committee. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, feeding everyone, reading and kayaking.

Surviving are her husband, Jr.; daughters, Darci and Dakota Goddard of Roscommon; granddaughter, Aubree Goddard of Roscommon; sisters, Nancy (Robert) Wood of Farmington, Brenda St.Denis of Roscommon, Sheila Stead of Higgins Lake, Jennie Stead of Roscommon and her twin, Dar (Scott) Stead-Smith of Roscommon; brother, James Stead of Lady Lake, FL; mother-in-law, Rose Goddard of Grayling; sister-in-law, Linda Goddard of Graying; and half sister-in-law, Bonnie Altman of Onaway.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rick Stead; and father-in-law, Floyd Goddard.

Funeral services were conducted at Firemen’ Memorial Barn, Roscommon with Pastor Nancy Bresette officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Arrangements were handled by Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon.
