MONTMORENCY COUNTY — On Jan. 21 at approximately 4:10 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post responded to a residence in Avery Township for a reported domestic violence incident.
A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect, 22-year-old Ethan Hodnett of Atlanta, allegedly physically assaulted the victim following an argument. Additional assaultive behavior was also reported. Hodnett left the scene before troopers arrived.
Hodnett was later arrested and lodged at the Alpena County Jail.
He is charged with one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder/strangulation. He was arraigned in 88-2 District Court in Montmorency County on Jan. 23. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 30 at 10:30.
