Dawn C. Taormino, age 70 of Comins, Michigan, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Dawn was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 10, 1955 to Arthur and Marion (Briesch) Scherz. She grew up in Harper Woods and graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School with the Class of 1973. Dawn met her husband Mike while attending Grosse Pointe High, and they were married on June 28, 1974 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Harper Woods. The couple lived in Royal Oak and Warren before moving to Comins, Michigan in May of 2025. They had been married for 51 years. Dawn enjoyed crafting and especially loved making the holidays special for her family. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin with her family and playing in the creek with her grandkids.
Dawn is survived by her husband Mike of Comins, MI; her children: Trina (Rick) Bresnahan of Warren, MI and Matthew (Jamie) Taormino of Clawson, MI; her sisters: Carol Scharnhorst and Judy Romps; her grandchildren: Anthony, Damian, Sabrina, and step-grandson Anthony; and her great-grandchildren: Aliyah and Ava. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Brian Scherz and Sandra Scherz.
Dawn will be always remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
