Mrs. Gallandt, age 71, lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer on July, 29, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Standish Michigan surrounded by family. Penny was born to the late David & Regina (Lustig) Neale on March 11, 1954. Penny grew up in many areas with her family settling in Bently Michigan where she graduated from Pinconning High School in 1972. Penny met Robert E. Gallandt at Hills Restaurant in 1975 and married on December 22, 1976. Penny and Bob moved their family to Powers Michigan where she worked as a Foreman at Frigo Cheese Factory. After many years, she moved her family back to Bay City Michigan where she took on many roles to include the Texan, co-owner of Pro-Tow Wrecker Service and finally retiring from Bay Metro Transit in 2016 after 18 years of service.

Penny is survived by her husband Robert of 48 years, children: Robert D. (Lisa) Gallandt, Mary (Kirsten) Gallandt, Tina (Bob) Morrison, and Doug (Jenifer) Gallandt, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, siblings: Terry (Dan) Wallington, Steve Neale, Cheryl (Ted) Drewry, Lynda Gromaski (Bill), Bobbi (Al) Bird, Mike Neale, Scott Neale, Robert Mogg, and Stacy (Wayne) Gage. She was preceded in death by her sister Patty, mother Regina, father David and grandson Jack Gallandt.

Per Penny’s wishes cremation will take place with funeral services following at Rivertown Funeral Home, Kawkawlin Michigan on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 6:00 pm, with Pastor Dave Valley presiding. Friends and family may visit at the chapel from 2:00pm until 6:00 pm.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Advisa Care Hospice and their staff especially Jennifer, Kim, Kelly and Sue for all their loving and compassionate care given to Penny and her family.
