For many, the inability to drive presents significant challenges to employment, education,
healthcare, vital services, and overall stability, and access to public transportation is limited in Northern Michigan. The Road to Restoration Clinics is designed to provide step-by-step
assistance, providing individuals with education and resources for each step of the process to restore their driving privileges.
“As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of rebuilding life after setbacks, I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate the system alone,” said event coordinator Stephanie Hector, Outreach Program Coordinator for Community Recovery Alliance.
“Our goal is to empower individuals by providing knowledge, resources, and a supportive community to help them take the next step toward independence. The process can seem daunting, but by providing guidance and walking alongside individuals through each step, they feel more supported and empowered to understand and take the necessary actions to regain their driving privileges.”
These programs are made possible with funding support from the Michigan Department of State, as well as grant support from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Northern Michigan Opioid Response Consortium (NMORC).
