Linda Wyckoff, 83, of Mio

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda L. Wyckoff, age 83, of Mio, Michigan, who departed this life on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Michigan.

Born on October 20, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Raymond and Hazel (Egan) Hawley, Linda’s life was marked by love, dedication, and community service. During a memorable canoeing trip to Mio with her girlfriends, she met her future husband, Gary Wyckoff. They married on April 4, 1970, at St. Monica Church in Kalamazoo and shared 54 wonderful years together.

After marrying Gary, Linda moved to Mio, where she lovingly raised their four boys and retired from the Oscoda County Clerk/Register of Deeds office. A cornerstone of her community, Linda was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Mio Garden Club, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Oscoda County Library Board, the Mio Study Club, and served as a 4H Instructor. She took great joy in caring for her beautiful flower gardens, crafting, knitting, and collecting antique teapots, Christmas ornaments, and paperweights.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Wyckoff, and their children Shawn (Marilee) Wyckoff of Zeeland, MI; Lee Wyckoff of Roscommon, MI; Ryan (Amy) Wyckoff of Mio, MI; and Todd M. Wyckoff of Mio, MI. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen DeYoung, three brothers Raymond (Bud) Hawley, Thomas Hawley, and Mark DeYoung, and her grandchildren Andrew, Madison, Logan, and Hunter. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Hawley, Hazel DeYoung, and Bernardus DeYoung.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service, and a private interment of ashes will be held at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Our Lady of the Woods Shrine Restoration Fund c/o St. Mary Parish, P.O. Box 189, Mio, MI 48647.

Linda will be forever remembered for her warmth, her unwavering commitment to her family and community, and the beauty she brought into the world. Rest in peace, dear Linda. You will be profoundly missed and always cherished.

Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI.
