Roger Joseph Weatherly, Jr., 59 of Beaver Creek Township, passed away on August 2, 2024.
Roger was born on October 2, 1964 in Detroit to Roger, Sr. and Mary Weatherly. He married Cindy Patnode in 1988. Roger served the Beaver Creek Fire Department for over 30 years, retiring as the Fire Chief. He liked hunting and beer camp and loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pooh Bear”. He was known as the “Answer Man” by family and friends and was always willing to help others.
Survived by his wife Cindy of 35 years. Children: Danielle (Steve) Wood and Shawn (Casey) Weatherly. Grandchildren: Caleb, Gabriella (Ethan), Shanarie, Isabel, Bentley, Stephanie, and Jordan. Great grandchildren: Steven, Evelyn, Delilah, and the anticipated arrival of Olivia-Rae. Brothers: Wayne (Shelle) Weatherly and Ray (Betty d.) Weatherly. Sister: Dawn (Mike) Burke. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger is preceded in death by his son Christopher, father Roger and mother Mary.
A memorial service is being planned for the near future.
