Cathy Marie Connolly, age 68, of Roscommon, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at The Brook of Grayling.
Cathy was born September 7, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, as the daughter of Keith and Phyllis (Bitten) Haywood.
Cathy married Joseph F Connolly on September 7, 1979, in Howell, Michigan. Cathy and Joe loved animals and passionately advocated for them. They wrote a book together, called “If I Should Die Before My Dog –“. Their pets were their “kids”.
Cathy also enjoyed many crafts including soap and lotion making, and knitting beautiful blankets. She was a Master Gardener. She loved spending time in her many flower beds and working in their pond.
Cathy was an at home weather reporter for 9 & 10 news for many years and was known as “Cathy from South Branch”. She worked at The Ralph A. MacMullan (RAM) Conference Center- State of Michigan-DNR in Higgins Lake, retiring after 25 years of service.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Joe of 42 years; her sisters, Cindy Haywood, Terri Harrington, and her brother Keith Eric Haywood; sister-in-law Joan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Vincent and Elizabeth (White) Connolly, brother-in-law Vincent, sisters-in-law Patricia and Peggy.
Per Cathy’s wishes, no services will be held.
