UP NORTH – Good morning Northern Michigan!
Other than a bit of rain this morning, it is shaping up to be another awesome Summer day.
Highlighting events across the region this weekend is the 16th Annual Nor-east’r Festival at the Oscoda County Fairgrounds, located off M-33 between Mio and Fairview.
Music starts at 10 a.m. with a performance by Melodic Canvas and wraps up after midnight at the Drum Kiva, featuring Josh Dunigan from Afro Zuma;.
Other events across Northeast Michigan include:
– The Annual Optimist Club Fishing Derby at Irons Park in West Branch from 9-11 a.m. The event is open to youths from ages 4-12;
– Back to the Bricks in Downtown Roscommon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Five village blocks will be closed as antique cars from across the region stop by the community. Stop in and visit the downtown businesses, as well as the Farmers Market;
– 3rd Annual Taste of the Cozy Corner in and around the Lupton. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. For information call Green Briar Golf Course 989-473-4900;
– Art Stroll of Tawas Bay from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Tawas;
And the Free Fishing Weekend across the state.
