ROSCOMMON– On Dec., 6, the Roscommon Bucks took on Harrison High School and came out victorious with the Varsity winning 67-37 and the JV winning 42-32.
According to coach MJ Ewald, “We started off slowly as we found ourselves down quickly, 8-2. We got our footing and went on a 14-2 run before Harrison hit a 3-pointer just before the end of the first quarter. Defensively, we did an excellent job of forcing turnovers that led to transition baskets from the first quarter on out. Proud of how we responded after our initial start to the game.”
The Buck’s defense was on fire and allowed Hamina, among others, the ability to attack the hoop!
Griffis found his groove behind the 3-point line and also did a great job while Green continues to be a workhorse for inside.
Barnes, coming off the bench, helped spark the team with a steal and score!
Sophomores, Keaton Pratt and Toby Bigford, both came in and played great, finishing with 8 points each. Pratt added 3 steals, and Bigford grabbed 6 boards.
As a team, the Bucks had 32 rebounds overall.
Josh Karoub (Sr) continues his confident play as he is getting much more comfortable in getting to the rim.
