Golf Ball Drop event raises funds for West Branch Maternity Center

WEST BRANCH – The MyMichigan Health Foundation is hosting a golf ball drop event in West Branch on Friday, June 24, 2022. The ‘Stork Drop’ event proceeds will go toward continued enhancements at the Maternity Center at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch, allowing patients the comfort of receiving prenatal care and delivering babies close to home.

When the Maternity Unit at the Medical Center in West Branch opened in March 2021, it received more than $2 million of improvements and equipment purchases, creating a comfortable, state-of the-art, family-focused place for women to give birth. The unit offers four labor, delivery, recovery, post-partum (LDRP) suites; three private care rooms; a renovated and newly equipped cesarean-section delivery suite; upgraded nursery, and a new advanced security system for mom and baby. In just over a year, the Maternity Unit has celebrated more than 100 births.

The event features a helicopter golf ball drop. Each golf ball has a number on it that corresponds to a ticket, and the owner of the golf ball that lands closest to the pin will receive a $1,000 cash prize. If less than 200 tickets are sold, the cash prize will be $250.

The helicopter, donated by Team Hodges, will drop the golf balls in Tolfree Wellness Park, located at 2463 S. M-30 in West Branch. Participants need not be present to win.

Tickets are $10 each, or six tickets for $50. Those who would like to purchase tickets may contact Nicole Potter, director of fund development, at (989) 343-3694.
