Grayling overcomes halftime deficit to win, 67-60

By Greg Gielczyk
WEST BRANCH – Four players scored in double figures as the Grayling boys basketball team stretched its winning streak to two games with a 67-60 non-conference win over Ogemaw Heights in West Branch Tuesday night.

Justin Nicholas scored 23 points to lead the Vikings, followed by Trey Moffit with 11, Christian Artress 10 and Nick Hunter 10. Grayling improved its record to 5-3 for the season.

The Vikings trailed, 25-20 at the half but managed to overcome that deficit and take the lead by the end of the third period, 51-44 as they outscored Ogemaw Heights, 31-19 and bounded into the fourth quarter with all the momentum.

“We played with way more intensity, and we did a much better job of attackiing the basket (in the third quarter),” Grayling coach Rich Moffit said. “The second half we just played a lot better.

“First half, we didn’t have a lot of energy. The second half, we played with more energy. Any time you win on the road is good. We have a big game this Friday.”
