Hale High School varsity track update

By Chloe Bernard

Hale Eagles Varsity Track is going strong.

The team so far has competed in eight meets and continues improving in each one. In their first league meet, Hale boys got third place and girls received fourth.

The Eagles traveled to Standish-Sterling on April 22 to participate in the SSC Sunrise Relay Meet. In terms of size, this was a big meet for the team. The weather that day was not the greatest, but the team still gave it their all, even though they lacked in numbers compared to the bigger schools they competed against. The Lady Eagles received 12th place and the men received 13th.

On the 26th of April, the Eagles hosted an NSL Jamboree. K. Hollis, A. Wanty, L. Schalk-smith, A. Egresics, and Z. Koepke all had personal records that day.

On April 29th, the Eagles traveled to Whittemore-Prescott. Both girls and boys received 9th place that day. May 3rd, the Eagles were in Fairview. This meet was not so pleasant, as it was raining the entire day. Despite this, D. Jaremba, C. Coutts, K. Hollis, and A. Egresics all got personal records. 4

May 10, the Eagles were in Oscoda for a small meet. Left on the schedule is an invitational in Akron-Fairgrove on May 13, followed by regionals on May 20.
