Three races attract marathoners for Sunrise Run

ROSCOMMON–Roscommon Rotary’ 8th Annual Sunrise Run was hosted June 17.

According to Rotarian Wally Chwan, the weather was decent. ‘It was not looking good early but things cleared up in time and the runners only got semi-wet.”

“Overall they probably preferred this over 80 degrees and sunshine.’

There were 420 people registered for the three different races – a half marathon, 10K and 5K.

Top local runners in the Half Marathon include: John Thiel of Roscommon 8th place with a time of 1:36:55; Pedro Marques of Roscommon 13th, 1:42:59; Jeff Silagy of Roscommon, 14th, 1:43:00; Jessica Maczik of Gaylord 19th, 1:49:17; Ed Hunt of Gaylord, 20th, 1:50:59; Jim Gardiner of Grayling, 23rd, 1:51:19; Matt Swope of Grayling, 24th, 1:51:20; Tony Medina of Roscommon, 26th, 1:52:56; Evan Caverly of Grayling, 28th, 1:53:11; Karen Wyman of Grayling, 38th, 1:56:27; Jim Scott of Roscommon, 39th 1:58:07.
