Getting sappy for wildlife

ST HELEN – The Association to Rescue Kritters (ARK) is holding its Annual Maple Syrup Fundraiser to benefit rescued wildlife.
The sweet treat is produced by an ARK volunteer, who gathers the sap and processes it into pure Michigan Maple Syrup inside his sugarhouse.
Currently, there is a variety of plastic jugs and glass bottles of syrup for sale, ranging from 8 ounces to one gallon containers with prices starting at $5. This year, ARK is once again showcasing a 16.9 ounce glass bottle adorned with a label that pictures an animal that has been cared for at ARK, such as an owl, hawk, eagle, fox, fawn, squirrel, raccoon, or rabbit. The featured bottle is tagged at $10.
ARK says proceeds from the sale will be used for the rescue, rehabilitation and eventual release of wildlife.
The fundraiser comes at a pivotal time of year when ARK says it often sees a rise in rescue cases due to Spring births.
For more information about ARK or to purchase syrup for the fundraiser, contact Randy at 989-366- 9188; 989-329- 2334; or call ARK at 989-389-3305.
