TAWAS– The popular Native Plant Sale fundraiser returns Saturday, May 16, at the Tawas Point State Park Lighthouse Pavilion in East Tawas. Hosted by Friends of Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse, the sale begins at 9 a.m. and runs while supplies last. No early sales will be offered.
Shoppers can browse a wide variety of Michigan-grown native perennials, shrubs and trees suited for sun, shade and different soil conditions. Most plants will be priced from $4 to $6, with larger pots and select shrubs or trees also available. Cash, checks and credit cards through PayPal will be accepted.
Members of the Sunrise Side Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and help customers choose the best plants for their landscapes.
Native plants support birds, bees and butterflies, improve water quality, and create beautiful low-maintenance landscapes. Proceeds from the sale will support ongoing native plant restoration and other special projects at Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse.
