Michigan Trails Advisory Council to meet April 13 in Roscommon

ROSCOMMON–The Michigan Trails Advisory Council will hold its next regular meeting Thursday, April 13, at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center, 104 Conservation Drive in Roscommon. The public meeting will begin at 10 a.m.

The meeting agenda is available online on the Michigan Trails Advisory Council webpage. Start at www.michigan.gov/dnr, select Commissions, Boards and Committees from the left-hand menu and find the Michigan Trails Advisory Council section. The April 13 agenda items include updates on Public Act 288 of 2016 and the water trails draft plan.

The Michigan Trails Advisory Council was created by Part 721, Pure Michigan Trails, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, to advise the Department of Natural Resources director and the governor on the creation, development, operation and maintenance of motorized and nonmotorized trails in the state, including, but not limited to, snowmobile, biking, equestrian, hiking, off-road vehicle, water and skiing trails. In advising the DNR director and governor on the creation and development of motorized and nonmotorized trails in the state, the council shall seek to have the trails linked wherever possible.
