Dana Brooke Quigley, age 41, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Alger, MI.
Dana was born in Bangor Township, Michigan to Kathleen Fender and then adopted in 1990 by Leslie and Rose Quigley of West Branch, Michigan. She was raised in West Branch where she attended West Branch-Rose City Area Schools through tenth grade before graduating from Standish-Sterling High School in 2004.
Dana was known for her unwavering work ethic and dedication. She spent her adult years working at Forward’s gas station in Alger, MI. Here she became a familiar and trusted presence in the community. She approached every shift with diligence and a positive spirit, often volunteering for hours others would pass up. Many remember Dana walking to work in many kinds of weather-an enduring reflection of her determination and “can-do” attitude. Dana faced life’s challenges without complaint, meeting each day with quiet strength and resilience.
Outside of work, Dana found her greatest joy in time spent with her son, Wyatt. The two shared a close bond, enjoying simple moments together, taking walks, playing video games, and creating memories that will be deeply cherished.
Dana will be remembered as a person of genuine kindness and selflessness. She had a way of making others feel seen and supported, always ready with a smile, a helping hand, and her signature farewell, “later gator.”
She is survived by her beloved son, Wyatt James Quigley; her parents, Leslie and Rose Quigley; and her biological mother, Kathleen Fender. She is also survived by her bonus family, Gary and Christina Jenkins-Sloan; her siblings, Jody (Peter) Zimmer, Robert (Mandi) Quigley, and Bethany (Brock) Hughey; and many nieces and nephews, Lesley (John), Neil, Autumn, Danielle, Isaac, Elizabeth, Taylor, Teagan, and Tarah, as well as her great-nephew and niece, Blake and Jolie. Dana is also lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arnold and Wilma Quigley, and Arthur and Mary Godden.
A celebration of Dana’s life will be held at Moffatt Township Hall, 1590 North M-76, Alger, Michigan, on Saturday, May 30, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Dana are welcome to attend.
