Eric Dennis Chrivia, age 34, of Hale, MI., passed away on May 29, 2025.
Eric was born on July 17, 1990, in Tawas, MI., to Owen Chrivia and Elaine Houser. He graduated from Hale High School in 2009 and joined the United States Marine Corp in 2010.
Eric was stationed in the United States, Afghanistan, Norway, and other countries. His job title in the Marines was an Infantry Mortarman. At the end of his military career, he was an E6 Staff Sergeant and had earned numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons. He served 10 years in the Marines and was honorably discharged in 2020. In civilian life, Eric worked primarily in the construction field, most recently for Redfield Construction.
Eric was a jack of all trades. The fondest memories with him were outside, grilling, being on the water and retreats camping in the woods. As a craftsman he always enjoyed making things. He always had some sort of project going on. With his skills he wanted to make what was needed versus just buying it new.
He loved everything with his whole heart. He felt every emotion deeply. He loved dancing and singing!!!!! Karaoke in the car rides with the kids. Bonfires and smores were also his favorite! Eric was an outdoorsman at heart. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and riding his Harley. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his children.
Eric is survived by his wife, Brittany; children, Eli, Jocelyn, Lincoln; mother of his children, Jamie Compau; parents, Owen (Becky) Chrivia and Elaine Houser; brothers, Chris Clark, Dylan Chrivia; sisters, Brooke Chrivia, Jessica Clark, and nieces and nephews, Madison, Logan, Allison, and Emma.
The family will hold services for Eric on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Buresh Funeral Home in Hale. Visitation 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Funeral 6:00pm.
