Our family suffered a devastating loss with the passing of Donna Renee (Kelley) Brookshire on May 24, 2025. She passed peacefully at her home in Prescott, Michigan at the, much too young, age of 52. Donna was born on August 24, 1972 in West Branch, Michigan and was the ultimate blessing to our beautifully blended family. She was instantly adored by her parents, Donald W. and Thelma I. Kelley and all of her eight siblings. Her sweet, gentle and compassionate nature guaranteed she would be loved by everyone who knew her.
Donna was joined in marriage with Mark Anthony Brookshire in June of 1997 and from this union, Donna received her greatest gifts from God. Her two beloved sons and her three treasured granddaughters brought her such joy and were the lights of her life.
Donna worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for nearly 30 years and was a ray of sunshine for all of her patients. She has touched so many lives with her caring and generous spirit. Her medical contributions will be sorely missed in our community.
Donna was at her happiest hunting for the best bargains in the local thrift stores. She has passed this passion down to her children and grandchildren, so her need to find the ultimate deal will lovingly live on.
Donna is survived by her two sons, Aaron Lawrence and Noah Mark, daughter-in-law Brianna Marie, and her granddaughters, Sophia Rose, Bella Jade and Amelia Lynn. She has also left behind her heartbroken brothers and sisters. Gary Lee (Kim), James Leroy (Pattie), Douglas William, Robert Lynn (Tina), Michelle Ann. Tami Jo and Cathy Ann (Richard). She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, who will all attest to the fact that once you belong to Aunt Donna–it is forever. Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, James Alan and nephew, Douglas Robert.
Our hearts ache with the loss of all that Donna added to this world. Our only comfort is knowing that she is home with her Lord and Savior and in the arms of her heavenly family. Services for Donna will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Buresh Funeral Home in Prescott, MI. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and conclude at the time of service at 1:00pm.
