Bob McMacken, 85, of Prudenville

Bob McMacken, age 85, of Prudenville, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois, to William and Wilma (Hohnstreiter) McMacken. On November 12, 1988, Bob married the love of his life, Jeri McMacken, in Madison Heights, Michigan. A devoted husband, Bob was a loyal, loving man who cherished his wife and family above all else.

Bob dedicated over 40 years to his craft as a skilled tool and die maker, known for his precision and strong work ethic. But beyond his trade, he was the embodiment of a “Michigan Man”—rugged, adventurous, and happiest in the great outdoors. He loved snowmobiling, ice fishing, four-wheeling, boating on Houghton Lake, and hunting. However, nothing rivaled his passion for his John Deere tractors and keeping the most perfectly manicured lawn wherever he lived.

Above all, Bob loved being “Papa”—his heart was as big as the Great Lakes, and he adored spending time with his grandchildren, filling their lives with fishing trips, laughter, and endless love.

Bob’s spirit lives on in the lawns he tended, the lakes he fished, and the family who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Jeri; his six daughters and three sons, along with their spouses; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Bob’s family has chosen to remember him privately at this time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
