Marjorie Roberts
Age 94, passed away on January 17, 2025, peacefully at her home in East Tawas, Michigan, under the loving care of her daughter Renee Ellington. Marjorie was born in Flint, Michigan, on June 27, 1930, to the late Gordon and Bertha (Kindell) Heath. She married the love of her life, David B. Roberts, and the two spent 49 amazing years together before his passing in 1999. Marjorie was a homemaker raising 6 children and in later years loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a longtime member of Salem Lutheran Church in Owosso, Michigan, a group that meant so much to her. Marjorie was a very sweet and loving woman, and she will be missed dearly by many.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (James) Gilbert of Florida, David (Debra) Roberts of Tennessee, Renee Ellington of East Tawas, Lynne (Rick) Freeman of Corunna, and Leslie (Marc) VanAgen of Bancroft; daughter-in-law, Diane Roberts; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Gordon and Bertha, Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, David B. Roberts; her son, Brian Roberts; and her son-in-law, James Ellington.
Per Marjorie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Creswood Memorial Gardens in Flint, Michigan, at a later date. The family wants to give a big thank you to Compassus Hospice of Ogemaw County for the care that they provided Marjorie in her final weeks.
