Richard Miglio, 80, of Houghton Lake

Richard James Miglio, 80, of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday November 10, 2024 at MyMichigan Health Center in Midland.

Richard was born on September 23, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Jeanne(Clark) Miglio. He grew up in the Detroit area and following graduation from high school he enlisted in the Marine Corp.  Richard served as a Cpl in the Marines during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam.  On May 8, 1970 in Harper Woods, Richard was married to Patricia Mary Giasson. Richard worked as a Police Officer in Harper Woods for many years before his retirement. The couple had a home in Prudenville for many years and moved permanently to the Houghton Lake area from Harper Woods in 2001.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Richard loved spending time with family and friends, especially with his wife Patricia, and always with a glass of wine.

Surviving Mr. Miglio are his three brothers, Phillip (Sandy) Miglio, Gary (Vicki) Miglio, and Allen (Karen) Miglio;  three brothers-in-law, Martin (Helena) Giasson, David (Geraldine) Giasson, and Raymond Giasson; five sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Robert) Tarvis, Ellen (Mark) Krikorian, Judy Windish, Nancy McIntee, and Lorraine Nuccio; several nieces and nephews.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Mary Miglio; and sister-in-law, Janet Sluck. 

At the request of Richard James Miglio there will be no services.  Memorial contributions in memory of Richard are asked to be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
