Audrey Stirling, 90, of Houghton Lake

Audrey Ann Stirling, 90, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday November 11, 2024 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side.

Audrey was born on May 4, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Alma (Mitchell) Lintula. Audrey grew up in the western Upper Peninsula until the family moved to the Detroit area when she was a young girl.  She graduated from high school in Detroit and met a young man by the name of Robert W. Stirling.  The couple married on February 4, 1961 in Wayne. Audrey was a homemaker for her entire life. The couple spent time coming to their place in Houghton Lake from 1978 until permanently moving to Houghton Lake in 1988 from Westland,  following Robert’s retirement from GM.  Audrey enjoyed her special pets, but her true love was spending time with family, especially her beloved Robert and her grandsons.  

Surviving Mrs. Stirling are her daughter, Wendy(Leroy) Johnston of Houghton Lake; two grandsons, Ian Johnston of Houghton Lake, and Ryan Johnston of  Houghton Lake;  Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Robert W. Stirling. 

Family Celebration of Life Services will be held in the spring for Audrey Ann Stirling.  Memorial contributions in memory of Audrey are asked to be directed to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter.
