She taught in a one room schoolhouse after completing County Normal teacher training, then joined Dane as co-owner and manager of Peterson’s General Store in Atlanta Michigan until her retirement in 1973. In her retirement Dorothy enjoyed her many friends and family and was an avid golfer and reader.
