Frank Colarossi, 83, of Oscoda

Frank Lewis Colarossi, age 83, of Oscoda, MI and formerly of Redford Township, MI passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his home. He was born on November 4, 1939 in Detroit, MI to the late Guistino and Maria Colarossi (Coppola). Frank attended Pershing High School and later served in the United States Army. He served from 1962-1965 at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska as a tank mechanic. It was during that time that he discovered his love for Alaska which he was later able to explore extensively with his beloved children and grandchildren, and pass this passion on to them . He was honorably discharged as a Specialist E-4. Frank married the former Janet Helen Edwards on August 14, 1968. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2020. He worked for many years as a machine builder in the automotive and aerospace industries. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, being out in nature and he was a collector of woodcarvings and totem poles. Most especially, he loved spending time with his family. He hosted a large annual family reunion at his home on the lake to make sure his family stayed connected no matter where life took them. These reunion weeks were something he planned and lived for all year long. Frank is survived by his two daughters; Tina Marie (Michael) Herron of Acworth, GA and Ann Marie Colarossi of Garden City, MI; granddaughter Delaney Tina Sheridan, grandson Donovan Frank Sheridan; his grandchildren’s father, Kevin Sheridan and sister Delores Gugan of Royal Oak, MI. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Dick Gugan. A celebration of life will be held on November 4th, 2023, his 84th birthday.
