Hugh Carlton Webster, age 80 of Prescott, MI., passed away peacefully at his home on August 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Hugh was born on December 6, 1942 in Rochester, NY., to the late Harley and Jean (Widener) Webster. As a young man Hugh served in the United States Army from 1962 – 1965. Primarily, he served as a military policeman in South Korea. After his service he met and married the love of his life, Arlene (Copp) Webster on February 5, 1966. They had 57 wonderful years together, and as Arlene says, it was an interesting roller coaster ride that she would never replace.
Hugh worked for Kodak Film for over 33 years where he worked primarily as a mechanic in the “dark room.” He retired from Kodak and he and Arlene eventually retired in the Prescott area. Back in New York Hugh also operated a small farm and carried that passion in farming to Prescott. He loved farming, loved the farm animals, going to auctions, and buying and selling animals. He enjoyed helping people and if someone needed help he was always there.
Hugh is survived by this wife, Arlene: Children Jodi and Kirk; brother, Eric; sisters, Phoebe, Phyllis, Judy (Russell); grandchildren, John, Kristina, Kaitlin; great-grandchildren, Timothy, and many nieces and nephews.
Hugh is preceded in death by his parents.
