Robert Joe Raleigh, age 76, of Hale, MI, formerly of New Lothrop, MI passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, MI. He was born on June 17, 1946 in Owosso, MI to the late John and Goldie (Deaton) Raleigh. Robert graduated from New Lothrop High School in 1964. He retired from General Motors after a full career of hard work and dedication.
Over the years, Robert enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, golfing, listening to music, watching and attending sporting events and relaxing on his deck overlooking Long Lake. Robert was an active grandpa who loved being involved in his grandchildren’s lives. He made sure to find time to attend many of their sports and school events, and they share many happy memories of weekends on the lake together. These special memories will forever be imprinted on the lives he touched.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Jeffery (Kelli) Raleigh and Amy (Jeffrey) Metz; grandchildren, Trevor, Sierra, Andrew and Lexie Metz; nieces, Denise Sykes and Susan Davis and special friends, Mick (Debi) Salgat and Carol Mackenzie. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Alma Davis.
The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 11 am until the time of service beginning at 1 pm at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale, MI.
