Norman Lorence, 83, of Pinconning

We are sad to announce the passing of Norman Stanley Lorence of Pinconning, MI. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at age 83. He was born in Pinconning on December 30, 1939, to Stanley and Julia (Lanczak) Lorence. He married Ruth Ann (Turmell) on August 13, 1960 at St. Michaels Church, Pinconning.

Norman Lorence – a beloved father, 44 years with Schaffer in Pinconning, as their auto body repairman. He enjoyed his time spent outdoors, hunting, fishing and picking morals. His happy place was their cottage on Long Lake. He will be remembered for that sweet smirk of happiness, and a man of few words but his comments when he did speak were witty for a good laugh by all. He had many up-hill battles with his health the last few years, all of which he handled head on in a way of such strength that was so admiral. Ruth Ann lovingly cared for him in their home. Our prayers for him are that he is welcomed with open arms and hugging his first daughter Julie for all of us.

He is remembered with love by his wife Ruth Ann (Turmell) Lorence; daughters Darlene (Shannon) Lorence, Coleen (Robert) Bishop, Anne (Kevin) Salgat, Cheryle (Kevin) Walczak, and Norma (Jeff) Beach. Grandchildren Kayleen (Tom) Evans, Alicia (Matt) Gotham, Jordan Gourd, Karlee (Josh) Miiller, Tyler (Murphy) Salgat and Blake Salgat. Greatgrand kids Blayke, Kinsley, Kali and Theodore.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Julie Lorence; sister Patricia DeWyse; brothers Robert Lorence and Clarence Lorence; and grandson Shane Gourd. Surviving siblings are sisters Lorraine Stanley, Dorthy Vennix, Marian Hartley and Barbra Connors.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday May 31, 2023, at 6pm at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home- Pinconning with Kathy Bersano presiding. The Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 2pm till time of service.
