Eleanor Marie O’Neil, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at The West Branch Manor. She was born on May 28, 1928, in Walsenburg, CO to Florindo and Angelina (Lanzi) Felici. Eleanor lived in West Branch since 1967, formerly of Detroit, MI.
Eleanor was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and ladies’ aid, helping with funeral dinners. She enjoyed reading, family gatherings, going for rides, and loved the rose plants in her backyard.
Eleanor is survived by her sons Patrick (Vicky) O’Neil and Bruce (LeAnn) O’Neil; grandchildren Michael Shirley, Kevin O’Neil, Cody O’Neil, Alexis Ehresman, Patrick O’Neil Jr., Tara O’Neil, and Chris Briggs; step grandchildren Jeffrey Dyer and Linsay Chapman; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, son Michael, daughter Janie, grandson Jerry Briggs, and sisters Mary and Elsie.
Visitation will begin at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
