Michelle, 62, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at home surrounded by family. She was born in Pontiac, MI on May 27, 1960, to the late John and Eleanor (Niewojt) Peistrack. She grew up in Omer, MI and was a graduate of Arenac Eastern High School, Class of 1978. She had a 35+ year career in the medical field, with 20-years retiring from the VA Hospital in Saginaw, MI. She will be remembered for her caring spirit and contagious laughter.
Michelle is survived by her daughter Kristin, significant other Gregg LaPonsey, brothers John and Gary Peistrack, step-brother Dale (Martha) Huber, step-sister Toni (Bob) and Karen Huber, nieces Alyssa (Jeremy) Stagray and Jennifer (Kevin) Allison. She is preceded in death by her step-father Robert Huber.
To honor Michelle’s memory and wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date at Bay Valley Christian Church in Bay City, MI. We invite those who knew her to attend and share in her memories. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Bay Valley Christian Church, River Jordan Inc., and St. Jude’s Hospital. The family would like to extend a “Thank you” to Promedica Hospice Services and to her Bonita Terra community in Florida.
