He was usually the life of the party and he genuinely cared about people, always lending a hand to whoever needed it.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan Smith Crawford; daughters Kristine (Steve) Cornwell of Boise, Idaho, and Corinne Crawford of San Diego, California. Also surviving are in laws Thomas (Linda) Smith, Steven (Carol) Smith, Michael (Denise) Smith, and Sally (Robert) Slade. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and many great friends from all around the country.

He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Wyoma Crawford, brother and sister-in-law Fred and Sally Crawford and niece Tiffany Caine (Smith) Farley.

Per his wishes, the family has arranged cremation. A memorial service may be held later this summer.

Edward felt strongly about helping those in need and he invested both his time and money into many charitable endeavors. In his memory, donations may be given to First United Methodist Church of West Branch or a charity of donor’s choice.
