On Monday, March 20, 2023, Arnold (Arnie) Errol Provo, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away. He was eighty-six years old. Born in Garden City, MI, to Joseph and Theresa (Reynaud) Provo, Arnie spent his life as a Mason and general laborer who loved to serve his community. In 1990, Arnie was the recipient of First Citizen Award, in Garden City due to his volunteer efforts in many organizations including the Mayor’s Committee for Underprivileged Children. In life, Arnie loved people, loved to laugh, had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed gardening and tinkering.
Arnie is survived by his sister, Elaine Glynn of Colorado Springs, CO, and his children Steven (Julie) Provo of Kissimmee FL, Vickie (Craig) Simonds of Dearborn, Bonnie Provo of Somerset Center, Bruce (Janice) Provo of Benzonia, Susan Provo of Lovelock, NV, and Andrew (Ann) Provo of Commerce Township, along with his sons, by choice, Brian Perlberg of Standish, and Jeffrey Miller of Bay City. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cory, Angela, Kayla, Lorin, Robert, Benjamin, Christopher, Alyssa, Emma, Cara, Briann, Abigail, Logan, and Donovan, along with his great grandchildren, Isaac, Auri, Arlo and Cora and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 11 siblings and his granddaughter Alexandra.
In keeping with the spirit of giving and helping others, Arnie chose to donate his body to science. The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 1, 2023, between 12-4 PM at the American Legion, Post 104, in Standish with Honor Guard beginning at 1:00 PM.
