Mary Forbing, age 68 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Mary was born in West Virginia to Lillian and James Hodge in 1954. She moved with her children to Mio, MI in 1989. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She never turned away a child in need of a meal or place to sleep. Mary enjoyed cooking and gardening, along with sewing. She was truly a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Mary was a huge part of all of their lives and will be missed dearly.
Mary is survived by her children: Rodney Mayse, Jr., Stephanie Freeze, and Shannon Bennett, all of Mio, MI; her sister Carrie Hicks of Mio, MI; her brother James (Flossie) Hodge of Rose City, MI; her sister-in-law Marge Hodge; her grandchildren: Charles Forbing, Morgan Forbing, Kyle Forbing, Cole Forbing, Dakota Mayse, Jacob Booth, Molly Booth, and K.C. Antkowiak; her great-grandchildren: Nova Ann Burch and Ava Jane Burch; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins (especially her niece Trisha White). Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Lillian Davis and James Hodge; her sisters Anita King and Cheryl Cowan; her brothers Richard Hodge and Micheal Hodge; her daughter Sheila Antkowiak, and her granddaughter Kayla Marie Forbing.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
