Jason Purkey, 40, of Rochester Hills

Jason Michael Purkey, age 40, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, died on Monday, February 6, 2023, in Higgins Lake, Michigan.

Jason was born December 24, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Michael Purkey and Patricia (Beck) Purkey.

Jason grew up playing baseball. He went from T-Ball all the way to playing for Macomb Community College as starting pitcher. Jason, and his son, Jay, and his father, Mike, loved to play golf together. Jason was a true entrepreneur. He started many businesses and had a passion for sales. Jason loved being a father.

Jason will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kay Purkey; father, Michael (Victoria) Purkey of Higgins Lake; mother, Patricia Purkey of Rochester Hills; children: Claire, Jay, and Kallie; sister, Christine (Carl) Rankin of Macomb Township; grandmother, Shirley Graves of Higgins Lake; uncles: Jay (Cindy) Purkey of Lake Orion, Greg (Dee) Purkey of Lake Orion; aunt, Karen Shall of Cheboygan; as well as two nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at 11:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023, Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.

Those who cannot attend due to distance, weather, or any reason preventing attendance, may watch the service streamed live at: https://www.facebook.com/wagnerandwalshfuneraldirectors (Occasionally issues may occur considering location and availability of reception. When this occurs, the funeral home staff is prepared to record the service and then post it to the Facebook page. We appreciate your understanding).

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Purkey Children’s College Fund, and please be made payable to: Michael Purkey.
