James Edward Herron, age 50, of Kingsley, died on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his home.
James was born September 7, 1972, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Michael Herron and Bonnie (Owen) Odell.
James truly enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed golfing. He liked going hunting and fishing. In his youth, when James lived in Florida, he loved going surfing. He loved music and took the opportunity to go to any live music event.
James will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his sister, Somer (Brian Quinlan) Herron-Quinlan of Grayling; nephews: Fletcher and Finnley; mother, Bonnie (David) Odell of Roscommon; grandmother, Janet Owen of Fairview; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
James is preceded in death by his father, Michael Herron; grandfather, Roger Owen; grandparents, Linton and Mary Herron.
Family and friends will gather at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023, for a Celebration of Life Service, at 6736 Turner Trail, Grayling, Michigan 49738.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in James’ name to Traverse City Retreat, 833 Parsons Road, Traverse City, Michigan 49686.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
