Doreen Miner, 91, of Oscoda/Ausable

Doreen M. Miner, 91, the 54 year Oscoda/Ausable resident died at her home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 surrounded by the love from her family. Doreen was born the eldest daughter of British RAF Officer John and wife Mary Robinson of Newcastle, England in September of 1931. In 1951, at 19 years old; she traveled alone across the ocean leaving family and all things familiar, to marry the love of her life.

Doreen was passionate about and had a natural talent for arts and crafts. She took up hobbies like cake decorating and knitting. She enjoyed card games like pinochle, board games, playing darts and bingo. Her love for painting is evident in the many treasures she has left behind.

Doreen was preceded in death by both of her parents, a brother John Robinson, her husband George Miner Sr., and a son David Miner. She is survived by:  Her sisters; Norma Pearson, Lynn Bell, Brenda Dalgetty, and Mary Robinson. With a combined total of 7 nieces and 1 nephew.  Her children; George Miner Jr., John Miner, Barry Miner, JoAnne Miner, Jaimie McGuire, and Robert Miner. With a combined total of 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on March 11, 2023 at 1:00pm at the VFW.
