Berta Ann (Stephenson) Schilke, age 82 of Prescott, MI., passed away peacefully at her home on February 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 25, 1940 in Oregon to the late George and Cora (Rice) Stephenson. Berta was one of five children and the family eventually resettled in Michigan. Berta married the love of her life, Robert Schilke, and they had over 60 wonderful years together and between them they had 7 children. Berta was a dedicated homemaker. She was a Cub Scout leader for many years and faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott. Berta enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles. She loved being outside and dabbling in the garden. Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Berta is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Debra (Bob), Doris, Theresa, Rachel, Beth, Irene, and Carl; sisters, Georgia, Stella, and Mary; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, James, and son, Robby.
A service will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church 5315 Henderson Lake Rd. Prescott 48756. Visitation 10:00 – 11:00, funeral 11:00, followed by a luncheon. Internment will be at the Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, MI. on February 27, 2023 at 1:00pm.
