Mick Riley, 74, of Alger

Mickey Lee Riley, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. He was born on September 4, 1948, in Mt. Clemens, MI to William and Esther (Beatty) Riley. Mick lived in Alger, MI for 53 years, formerly of Lake Orion, MI.

On September 21, 1968, he married Margo Roe in West Branch, MI.

Mick graduated from West Branch High School in 1966 then worked for Pontiac Motors. He was drafted during Vietnam in the United States Army in 1969. After an honorable discharge, he ran the Wildwood Gas Station, and later worked at Carquest, Napa, and Auto Zone. He was a member of the Lions Club for a short time, and a volunteer Firefighter and Assistant Chief with the Wildwood Fire Department for 30 years. He enjoyed wood carving, camping, and spending time with his family, especially with his 4-legged buddy, Tator. Mick was a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.

Mick is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margo Riley; daughter Melissa (Tony) Blizzard; son Matt (Julie) Riley; grandchildren Keigan Riley and Gabe Riley; sister Sheila Searfoss; all of Alger, MI; plus several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth Ann.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service with veteran honors at 1:00 p.m.
