Steven Christopher Broughton, age 49 of Iosco County, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 15, 2022 with his family at his side. He was born on September 25, 1973 in Ypsilanti, MI., to James and Peggy (Fox) Broughton.
Steven graduated from Whittemore-Prescott High School and joined the United States Marine Corp. After serving his country he came home and went to work for his father’s construction company. He loved construction and was an excellent carpenter.
Steven’s greatest enjoyment in life was his children and spending time with them. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, looking for morels, cooking on the grill, and playing the lottery.
Steven is survived by this long-time life partner, Tomicena Edwards; sons, Ray Broughton of Whittemore, Trevor (Kayla) Broughton of Alger; daughters, Allie and Shyann Broughton of Whittemore; parents, James and Peggy of Whittemore; brother James Broughton of Whittemore; grandchildren, Troy and Korra Broughton of Alger; niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Dylan Broughton of Whittemore. Steven is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Broughton, Frank and Nancy Fox, and Patricia Birbeck.
