Arthur Ray Downey, age 89 of Prescott, MI., passed away on October 23, 2022. He was born June 26, 1933 in Bailey Switch, KY., to the late George and Matilda (Shelton) Downey. Arthur was a service mechanic and worked in the meat packing industry for many years. When not at work and after retirement, his passion was animal husbandry and home repair projects.
Arthur is survived by his long-time companion, Charlene Knight; daughters, Alleyne (Ed) Patrick and Kathleen (Ken) Vanzandt; son, Bill Downey; sister, Maureen Ryder; grandchildren, Mary Lynn and Kelly. Arthur is preceded by his parents. Per Arthur’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Services for Arthur will take place Thursday October 27, 2022 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott. Visitation at 11:00am, funeral at 1:00pm, with a supper to follow. Pastor Edward Meyer will be officiating.
